The 1990s: Managing the Changes

New products produced at Peterborough included the 700 Series in collaboration with Iseki in Japan, and the new 100 Series of engines made in a new factory in partnership with ISM. A revamp of the venerable 3.152 engine resulted in the 900 Series, an emissions-compliant engine for use in materials handling.

Major changes at Shrewsbury included the completion of a new factory and an overhaul of the product range. The Gardner plant was re-sold, and in 1994 Perkins acquired the Stafford plant of Dorman Diesels, thus adding a range of large diesel and gas engines to the top of the power offering.
